Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic and a member of the polyester family. PBT has high strength and rigidity, high dimensional stability, low tendency to creep, along with very good friction and wear properties. Due to these factors, along with its resistance to chlorine and caustic cleaning solutions, PBT is frequently used in the food industry.
