Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT)

Dimensionally stable material with good friction and wear properties

Why Choose PBT?

  • High strength and rigidity
  • Low tendency to creep
  • Chemical resistance

What are some common PBT applications?

  • Electrical components
  • Food processing parts
  • Research components

Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic and a member of the polyester family. PBT has high strength and rigidity, high dimensional stability, low tendency to creep, along with very good friction and wear properties. Due to these factors, along with its resistance to chlorine and caustic cleaning solutions, PBT is frequently used in the food industry. PBT comes in a wide variety of colors, ranging from white to bright colors.
