MICRO MACHINING SERVICES FOR THE MODERN AGE

As a premier manufacturer of thermoplastics and engineered plastic components, we take pride in the intricate and innovative art of micromachining. We specialize in creating precise microfluidic components for a breadth of applications. Whether it's for point of care, biological analysis, or chip-embedded devices like those in semiconductors, we make products to the submillimeter level using this emerging technology.

Micro Milling, Turning, and Drilling

Generally, micro manufactured plastic parts can have intricate features that are virtually invisible without magnification. Some micro components measure as small as 0.01 inches (0.254 mm) in diameter and have to hold to tight tolerances of ±0.0005 inches (12.7 µm) and sometimes tighter. While such parts are necessary for many devices, such as those in medical and electronics, these features often cause some challenges in manufacturing. Many general manufacturers lack either access to the specialized equipment or the knowledge needed for micro milling, turning, and other micromachining services — especially for high volume projects.

However, Controlled Fluidics recognized years ago the potential in this growing technology and invested time and resources into providing this invaluable service to customers.

Saving Time & Budget

We're not only about precision. We're also about efficiency in producing these exacting components for OEMs and their partners. This means that items don't need to be shipped around the world several times over for a complete final product. Because we concentrate on the holistic manufacturing process in one place, we also incorporate both the pre and the post manufacturing processes. From the beginning, we can help with DFM (design for manufacturing) and other validation processes to ensure micro parts are right the first time. After production, we offer fine surface finishing, assembly, handling, and inspection from our meticulous Quality Assurance and Control Department.
