Welcome. In this video, we’re talking about the G10 grade of phenolics. This is a tense and hard material but it also has very high tensile, compressive, and flexural strength. Those qualities make phenolics G10 ideal for applications where a component is likely to face a lot of tension, bending, or compression.
The G10 grade is also very impact resistant, and it offers superior water and chemical resistance. Due to a low dissipation factor coupled with its high dielectric strength, phenolics G10 is popular for electrical components. At Controlled Fluidics, we see this material used in a lot of circuit boards, transformers, and insulators.
It’s ideal for high-temperature applications, and it can operate continuously in temperatures up to 284 degrees Fahrenheit.
