Not all plastics are made for medical, healthcare, or pharmaceutical applications. For a machined plastic component to be medical grade, it must meet at least one or more of these qualities: biocompatible, sterilizable (i.e. high chemical resistance, high temperature range), withstand x-ray exposure without interference, or compliance with medical regulatory bodies. Many materials exist that have high strength and durability, but if they lack these qualities, then it's unlikely the medical device would hold medical-grade status.
